Our stunning 1966 table debuts at Wembley!

Saturday 30th July was the 50th Anniversary of England's famous World Cup Victory and at Wembley Arena a star-studded special event, 'World Cup '66', took place celebrating this defining moment in the nation's history. As the performers waited to take their turn on stage amongst legendary players such as Geoff Hurts and Sir Bobby Charlton they were brilliantly entertained by The Games Room Company's specially commissioned 1966 football table.

Based on the stylish and robust RS3, which is already a design classic, our table has custom features which go way beyond the team crests at either end of the cabinet. The players themselves have been hand painted in their respective team colours, right down to Gordon Banks' famous yellow shirt, and they even sport miniature logos on their chests!

Jeremy Vine hosted the event, which was simultaneously broadcast in cinemas all over the country and live on Radio 2, but with significant intervals between the music performances the stars were grateful to have an exciting opportunity to while away the hours and quell their nerves in the Green Room. If our photos are anything to go by the 1966 table proved a terrific hit, not just with famous soul singer Lemar but also with the various band members of Squeeze!

When it comes to launching an exclusive and exciting new product like this, we simply couldn't have asked for a better kick off!
