Description

Stern’s Dark Knight pinball table from 2008 is a stunning looking piece and sports some thrilling mechanical playfield toys to keep you entertained as you clean up Gotham City.

Over the years we’ve been fortunate enough to have gathered together a select few engineers whose enthusiasm for pinball machines and vast experience ensures that The Games Room Company’s restorations are quite simply the best in the world. Our technicians love breathing new life into old circuitry and want to see as many of these classic pinballs preserved for future generations as possible.

Instead of the perfunctory checklists which pass for an inspection at other dealers we have an unflinching determination to get to grips with the detail. This usually begins with a thorough strip down of the machine and a forensic examination of the internal workings. The engineers will be aware of the particular quirks and foibles of any given table and instead of just replacing failed parts they’ll always go the extra mile, swapping out components which are likely to fail in the near future.

This particular example has had the cabinet artwork completely renewed, new playfield mirror rails installed and the lighting upgraded to colour themed LED’s as part of the extensive restoration process. Batman side rails have been added, along with Batman logo flippers and Batman speaker grill plastics. Our aim is to ensure that our refurbished pinballs play just as well as the day they left the factory but when you take into account the cosmetic upgrades it can truthfully be claimed that a table refurbished to this standard is actually superior to the original machine.

Designed by George Gomez and featuring artwork by Kevin O’Connor and Margaret Hudson, The Dark Knight has all the brooding presence of Batman himself. On the playfield you’ll find 2 flippers, 3 pop bumpers, 2 slingshorts and a ramp which diverts the ball to either a teeter totter mechanism known as the Batmobile Bridge or to an elevated mini playfield.

Also featuring is the Joker’s reveal mechanism, which is a cylinder that rotates to reveal Gotham City, and the Scarecrow’s crane, which swings across the playfield dangling a spring loaded silver ball. This ball acts as a target for anyone skilful enough to strike it and as a result the crane has been described by some pinball fans as the coolest playfield toy ever devised.

There’s never a dull moment with this game, with the multi ball function raising the energy level to new heights and that terrific crane sweeping back and forth with increasing speed.

Designed for up to 4 players, The Dark Knight has all the lights, sounds and action you could want so why not come down to our Weybridge showroom and put it through its paces?

Despite only having been used in a domestic setting this particular machine has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment in our workshops. It is of course backed up by our usual 1 years parts and labour warranty.

The Games Room Company is one of the oldest pinball dealers in the country. Our founder, Reginald, played his first pinball game in 1960, and described it without irony as being “flipping excellent”. We’ve been selling pinball machines since 1962, so know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
