This original 1940s Brunswick Centennial is one of the most celebrated vintage pool tables ever produced and a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine icon of American design.

Created during the height of the Art Deco period, the Centennial combines sculptural chromed aluminium, richly polished rosewood and delicate mother-of-pearl inlay. Its fluted metal aprons flow into the substantial corner castings, while matching aluminium detailing at the base of the legs gives the table a beautifully resolved and unmistakable silhouette.

The playing surface comprises three sections of one-inch-thick slate, each supported by its own timber frame. Metal dowels and ferrules keep the sections precisely aligned, while concealed fixings help create a clean, level and uninterrupted playing surface.

This particular example has undergone a thorough refurbishment and now presents beautifully. The rosewood, aluminium and decorative details have been carefully brought back to life while preserving the character and authenticity expected of an original vintage table.

Brunswick was founded by John Moses Brunswick, who left Switzerland for America at the age of just 14. After seeing a finely made billiards table by the respected London manufacturer John Thurston, he decided to enter the billiards business himself, declaring that if something could be made from wood, his company could make it better.

With the help of his brothers, Brunswick grew into one of America’s most important manufacturers of billiards equipment and recreational products. Over more than 170 years, the name became synonymous with quality, innovation and craftsmanship.

The Centennial represents Brunswick at its most ambitious. Produced with the benefit of more than a century of manufacturing experience, it brought together serious playing performance with the glamour and confidence of post-war American design.
