How do you top one of the most iconic table football tables of all time?
Well, if you’re the renowned Spanish Design House RS Barcelona, who created the original RS2 table, then you top it with a piece of toughened glass and give it a second life as a stylish dining table. We are excited to be offering this stunning table for the first time here, and with two height options and a choice of oval or rectangular tops, it really is a superbly flexible piece. The rectangular version is listed separately here.
When you factor in the choice of five different frame finishes too then you begin to realise just how many potential permutations there are, and that’s before you start customising the pitch or the players!
The dining version of the RS2 is the result of a collaboration between the company and top chef Jose Andres, who has installed the table in some of his restaurants. It should be noted that the rectangular version in this specific listing seats four people comfortably whereas the oval version (listed here) seats six. Please note also that the taller version results in a surface height of 100cm, which is little high for dining unless you’re using stools. If it’s regular dining table height you’re after, for use with typical dining chairs, then the lower version is a better option at 76cm.
When you’ve had a blowout meal at the table, just whip your top off and get down to it. What better way to burn off the calories?
The RS2 itself is an impressive blend of style and sustainability, and the highly customisable design incorporates smoothed edges and rounded lines to make the tables both elegant and robust.
The table is subject to a high level of modification – the layout of the players and even the choice of team colours can be specified by the customer. Anything from their kits, skin colour, hair and even their gender is completely dependent upon your whim, and if you'd like specific logos on the shirts these too can be added for a small premium! Resilient and hard wearing, the RS2 incorporates a football drop mechanism which uses a funnel system to prevent the balls being blocked by a build-up of dirt and debris.
Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, was a keen player of table football. Years of practice made him into a formidable player. The mastery of his aggressive, co-ordinated attacks and the lightning-fast reactions of his defence combined to make him legendary in the Waldersmith household, where he quickly became reigning champion. However, opponents occasionally noted this might be because he was always somewhat vague on the controversial ‘no spinning’ rule.
We’ve been selling tables since 1962, so know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
