Exceptional Games Since 1962
Description
Created by Williams, one of the oldest pinball manufacturers around, a fishing theme pervades every inch of this light-hearted game, from the ball launch (moulded after a fishing rod handle), the ramps on the playfield (in the shape of a boat), and the multiball lock (a fishing reel).
Cheerful, humorous artwork furnishes the sides of the Fish Tales, and the high backboard is complete with a moving, thrashing fish. As you light and advance all the jackpots to become a master in every form of fishing, the second element of gameplay will come in – the fibbing! The stretch-the-truth meter will light up with every catch, letting you lie about the size of the fish you caught, and a random bonus will be awarded. Fish Tales’ surreal video mode turns your boat into the bane of fish and humans alike, as you blast water-skiers out of the water with torpedoes.
The Fish Tales machine has been painstakingly restored by Games Room Company engineers back to concourse condition. The action-packed playfield, the iconic backglass and quality cabinet have all been expertly finished. The side rails have been polished, chrome effect flipper buttons have been installed, and we have rebraided the earth strap with a matching interior. Its already prestigious status, combined with its mint condition, makes this one of the most valuable machines in the UK; the extensive work and special attention afforded to our individual pinball machines by our professionals makes them even more valuable than they were in their original, factory-produced condition.
As one of the more affordable options among the most popular machines, Fish Tales Pinball is quite a catch.
In 1943, Harry Williams founded Williams Manufacturing Company at 161 West Huron Street in Chicago, Illinois.
A Stanford engineering graduate, Williams devised the “tilt” mechanism for pinball machines and their early models often included innovative features and pinball firsts, such as mechanical reel scoring and the "add-a-ball" feature for locations that didn't allow game replays. By 1967, pinball was in the middle of its so-called "golden age", and the number of pinball units sold began to increase dramatically.
The company went on to produce the legendary Addams Family pinball table, which remains one of the world’s most sought after machines and sold over 20,000 units in its time, setting an enviable record that still stands to this day.
The Games Room Company is one of the oldest pinball dealers in the country. Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, played his first pinball game in 1960, and described it without irony as being “flipping excellent”. We’ve been selling pinball machines since 1962, so know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
