The American-made Grand Champion, manufactured in Texas by Champion Shuffleboards, is the pride of the company. Crafted from solid Canadian maple, the Grand Champion’s famous polymer finish bestows the playfield with an unrivalled level of quality – the very same insisted upon by the professionals. This example is just a few years old and has been extensively refurbished by our team. It includes the original electronic scoreboard shown.
On the playfield you can see retracting pegs which drop down to allow play once the requisite coins have been inserted in the mechanism below. This feature can be disabled at no extra cost if required, thereby enabling free play. Shuffleboards generally range between 12ft and 22ft in length so this is very much at the upper end of the scale, and is the 'official' tournament size.
We at the Games Room Company have always had a special fondness for the game of Shuffleboard – like us, its history is integral to its excellent reputation. Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, discovered an early affinity for shovelboard (as it was then known) when he served on board the HMS Queen Mary during WWII, He grew especially fond of the game in his later years, and his only regret regarding the game was the ready lack of cruise ships to play it on, living as he did in rural Surrey.
We’ve been selling games since 1962 so we know a thing or two about our products. Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
