Cherry Burst One-Armed Bandit

description

Produced by the Mills Novelty Company around 1937, this 'Cherry Burst slot' machine is in full working order having undergone a thorough restoration. Some versions of the Cherry Burst took 5c coins but this example vends on quarters, which are supplied with the piece.

Made from cast iron rather than aluminium, this is one of the few truly authentic Art Deco slot machines and may well have seen action on an American military base before being banned in the late 1940's.

This Cherry Burst is mounted on an oak base and the machine itself measures approximately 25" tall by 16" wide.

Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, was far from an avid gambler, but he was extremely knowledgeable about the industry. He specialised in ‘one armed bandits’, and they were an essential part of the business that eventually became the Games Room Company. After servicing slot machines and jukeboxes on American airbases after the war, the resultant friendships Reginald made in the US armed forces allowed him to begin shipping them to the UK, and begin trading as the Games Room Company.

We’ve been selling games tables since 1962, so we know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
