We won’t sugarcoat it - owning your own snooker table is a touch extravagant! That’s not to say it can’t or shouldn’t be done; they’re a common sight in homes across the world. But, as anyone who has ever played snooker will know, snooker tables are a huge piece of kit, and they require a lot of space. If you have room to spare though, we’ll bet you’re up to the challenge, and once it’s installed, it’s guaranteed to bring you hours of fun!
While pool is more classic table games, snooker is the more exciting and more competitive - there’s a reason it’s played professionally, it makes for good spectating!
While a snooker table may not be the best choice if you want a game that can be played by the whole family (kids included), it’s great if you’re serious about the game and have a real interest in snooker. It’s also an excellent choice if you’re competitive - you could even hold your own snooker tournaments at home!
To a casual observer, the games of pool and snooker may seem to be basically the same thing. But there are differences. Not only do the sizes of the tables differ (snooker tables are a lot bigger), snooker uses more balls and is considered to be a professional sport. While it’s still not Olympic level, it’s widely recognised, and in the UK snooker stars like Ronnie O’Sullivan are renowned and recognised. It’s not as common to play in your own home as pool is, but we don’t see any reason why this is the case!
As we mentioned before, there’s no getting around it - snooker tables are large. At Games Room Company, we sell a variety of styles and sizes, but they all require a lot of room. However, we think this is what makes them a real statement piece, and if you’re after a genuine snooker experience, the size really does matter!
We reckon that if you’re going to buy a snooker table, you may as well go the whole hog and go for a tournament size. Yes, these are the largest size, but these are the tables that facilitate an authentic snooker game. You can practice your skills on a professional level table, and it will make those home snooker tournaments even more realistic!
