Made from real North American oak, the modestly embellished Tagora features a simple, traditional design. It showcases an exemplary ball response, made possible by its unique 8-bolt rail arrangement, and the body of the table also incorporates a steel frame to reinforce an already solid structure. An easy-to-use levelling system comprises adjustable metal levelling feet, coupled with 48 locking levelling points built into this frame.
Expert levels of care and craftsmanship have been poured into the Tagora, which can be stained to your specification. State of the art UV resin curing techniques have been employed to create a flawless finish in anything from natural wood veneers to contemporary black or white lacquers. Its retro-style pocket plates are available in stunning smooth chrome or polished brass.
Far more than a table, the Tagora is an icon; a historic game from one of the most significant portions of British history. Its traditional build hearkens back to the mid-20th century, where it was a common feature in grand country houses and gentleman’s clubs that spanned the British Empire. Eight finely crafted tapered legs hold the table at a regulation height from the ground, making the Tagora suitable for tournament-standard playing. With a 1¾” slate playing surface and the finest quality cloth, the sheer majesty of this behemoth makes it an awe-inspiring purchase for professionals and beginners alike.
Our founder, Reginald Waldersmith, first learned to play snooker in Cairo, serving with the 8th Army during the Second World War. He was fond of confusing opponents by telling them they were ‘absolute snookers’, explaining that the term originally referred to an inexperienced army recruit, before it was applied to the game. This intriguing titbit was repeated so often that many of his colleagues eventually memorised his explanation word-for-word. We’ve been selling games tables since 1962, so we know a thing or two about our products! Our showroom will gladly assist you on any questions you may have before or after you purchase any Games Room Company equipment.
